Orleans Complex Fires At 3,200 Acres, 5% Contained

ORLEANS- Fire fighters continue to make progress on the Orleans Complex forest fires.

The complex, made up of eight lightning fires, has scorched over 3,200 acres and is five percent contained.

The largest is the Ukonom fire at 2,400 acres. Crews are having a difficult time dealing with steep terrain and high temperatures.

Motorist are asked to use caution when traveling on State Route 96 between Somes Bar and Happy Camp due to the fire.

There is one-way traffic control between Persidio Bar and Dillon Creek.
