Blue Lake To Discuss Recreational Cannabis Ordinance

BLUE LAKE – The City of Blue Lake continues to make progress on its cannabis ordnance. City Attorney Russel Gans will discuss what the staff report describes as reasonable regulations of recreational cannabis at Tuesday night’s meeting.

The city imposed a moratorium on cultivation and other cannabis related business last October to allow more time to craft its own ordinance. Residents and city council members have expressed concern about the impact of those businesses on the community.

If the city opts for an outright ban it will be ineligible for state grant funds derived from taxing recreational marijuana.
The meeting is Tuesday night at 6:00p.m. at Skinner Store behind City Hall.
