Emily Jacobs, Program Coordinator for Humboldt County’s Division of Aviation said she’s been working with United to get more availability of seating.

On August 7, Penair abruptly cancelled all of its flights as they began reorganization due to filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Jacobs say’s United plans to add a fourth flight with a 4 pm departure beginning September 6. In the meantime, some added seats may be available on larger planes departing over the next several weeks.

Jacobs and other county officials will be heading to Washington State in October in hopes of courting a new carrier to service our airport.
