TRINIDAD – Trinidad’s Memorial Lighthouse needs to move or it may crumble in to the ocean, but it won’t be cheap.
Called a beloved but endangered icon, the ground beneath the Memorial Lighthouse started to slide in March, following a very rainy winter.
A geologist advised the monument’s owners, the Trinidad Civic Club, to relocate it before winter. The plan for now is to move approximately twenty-five feet east. While that may not seem like much club members and local residents are trying to raise $100,000 for the effort and launched a GoFundMe page to help.
