Buckhorn Summit Project Getting Closer To Completion

HIGHWAY 299 – The big Highway 299 project at Buckhorn Summit on your way to Redding is continuing to make good progress and Caltrans is quietly optimistic about its completion on or before the end of November.

Currently, crews are working with erosion control and going back over an area that was disturbed a bit during the winter with a slide.

Delays in the construction zone vary from about 15 to 30 minutes depending on traffic and the work load. Authorities say the completed project will improve inter-regional travel, upgrade safety and traffic conditions and will widen the road to make it easier for surface transportation and recreational vehicles.
