EUREKA – A lost horse found its way home with a little help Thursday evening after getting stuck in a hole.

Humboldt Bay Fire Department was called to a home in Eureka after a 22-year-old mare fell down into a hole while wondering around a pasture.

It took the fire department, neighbors, and 2 veterinarians a couple of hours to work together and pull her out. Thankfully she was unharmed in the process… though her owner, Cindy Conover says she’ll probably be a little sore tomorrow. Conover was worried about how they were going to get her horse out but was thankful everyone that came together to make it a successful rescue.
