Fortuna Community Comes Together To Help Local School

FORTUNA – A school in Fortuna is flooded with support from their community after their buddy bench was stolen.

Last May Kelsey Harrison, a mom of one of the students here at Redwood Preparatory Charter School, saw the idea of a buddy bench and thought it would be a good addition to her daughters school.

Students at Redwood Prep say the bench is a great way to make friends outside your grade

However when the school was setting up for their back to school BBQ last Thursday no one was able to find the bench

The community is now in the process of building a brand-new buddy bench for the school. Redwood Prep to thank everyone that reached out and offered help make sure that their school will always have a buddy bench.

The charter school says they had many offers to build a replacement bench, the new one is currently being built by the Jensen family and Sweet Evergreen Wood Signs.
