Hit and run driver flees after damaging Arcata apartment

ARCATA – An apartment sustains significant damage after a hit and run Tuesday night.

A vehicle that some witnesses say ‘may have been a truck’; rammed into the building while a man was relaxing at home.

Just after 8 PM, Arcata Police responded to the report and found one wall of the apartment to be heavily damaged.

The male resident was upstairs when it happened and was not injured. He says right afterwards the driver sped away.

Neighbors that heard the crash were shocked by the sound and rushed outside to see what happened. There were no injuries.
