EUREKA – Organizations throughout Humboldt County are challenging the community to think about where their food is coming from this month.
September is eat local month and for the 11th year the North Coast Growers Association, Local Food Policy Council, and other organizations in the community are teaming up to celebrate and encourage people to think about where their food is coming from. The Eat Local Challenge goes on throughout the month of September, which is also harvest month. The North Coast Co-Op’s Demo Coordinator, Ellie Christensen, says it’s a great time to think about eating local because of all the fresh food available.
