EUREKA – A Eureka women was arrested Wednesday after robbing an elderly woman who was grocery shopping.

On Monday the Eureka Police Department responded to the parking lot of WinCo just before 3 on the report of a robbery on a female in her 70’s. The victim says she was putting her shopping cart away when a female, now identified as 25 year old Michelle Randall of Eureka, approached her and grabbed her handbag, causing her to fall to the ground. If this fall or robbery happened in the elderly woman’s home, she would have benefitted from a medical alert system for seniors from the likes of Let’s Say Thanks.

This morning just before noon officers located Randall near the corner of 4th and P street, along with the items belonging to the victim.

Randall was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Jail for robbery, elder abuse, and probation violation.
