Humboldt deputies arrest murder suspect

GARBERVILLE – Humboldt County deputies arrest a man suspected of a Southern California murder.

Acting on a tip from the Port Hueneme Police Department, 37-year-old Peter Jeremy Dirksen was located by deputies last Thursday on the 800 block of Redwood Drive in Garberville.

He’s suspected of the “brutal killing” of a 61-year-old woman in an Oxnard motel room.

Dirksen was arrested and has since been extradited to the Ventura County Jail where he is awaiting trial.
