Suspects in marijuana robbery and Highway 36 pursuit detained

HIGHWAY 36 – New details in a robbery pursuit that resulted in six arrests and left on man with a gunshot wound.

Just before noon Friday, witnesses say six subjects were being chased by a victim they robbed marijuana from.

They were racing eastbound on Highway 36 near mile marker 39 in a dark SUV, towing a black trailer filled with marijuana.

When they came to a highway construction zone they sped past the line of traffic and deputies say they almost ran over a traffic flagger.

Construction workers then blocked the SUV and two suspects fled on foot.

Another suspect had suffered a minor gunshot wound to his foot but denied treatment.

The two who ran were found just after 4PM near Burr Valley Road.

Somsack Xayadeth, Hai Troung, Ha Troung, Sonesay Rathsamy, Johndy Say and Chanrith Yoeun were all arrested for conspiracy and illegal transport and sale of marijuana.

Say had added charges of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The victim of the robbery has yet to be identified and the investigation is ongoing.

Tips should be directed to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
