EUREKA – Members of Humboldt County’s Immigrant Communities gathered outside the Humboldt County Courthouse this morning to call on the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors to pass a sanctuary ordinance and support the county’s DACA students.

The ordinance would include the prohibition of collaboration and information-sharing between the County Sheriff and Immigration Customs Enforcement. Over 600 cities and counties have passed sanctuary polices in order to build trust and cooperation between immigrant communities and local law enforcement. Activists today said they are looking for support from their local community.
