College transfer day helps CR students plan for the future

EUREKA – Students at College of the Redwoods had the chance to learn more about four year university programs at College Transfer Day.
Representatives from fifteen colleges and universities were on hand to help students plan the next step of their academic careers, including admission requirements and financial aid options.
Transfer day is one of the only chances for CR students to connect with some of these schools in person. The college has been offering Transfer Day for more than thirty years, and according to one prospective transfer that’s still important even in the digital age.
CR Kinesiology Major Izaiah Flagg said, “I think it’s a monumental opportunity. One of the things I didn’t do was view colleges out of high school, so I came up here not knowing what to expect. I feel like that aspect of really going out and visiting kind of seeing if you really fit for that location. It’s very important academically, personally with all the connections you need, things like that.”
