MCKINLEYVILLE – The last house built by a local student construction company has been completed and is now for sale.

The building trades construction classes have been an option for students from both McKinleyville and Arcata High Schools for over the past 30 years. The state stopped funding the program in June making this the last home from the program. Students take the skills they’ve learned in school and apply them into building homes. Starting from the bare ground, students take part in every part of the building process from foundation to framing.

Instructor, David Enos, says the program taught students skills that there is a high need for in this community.
