Shelter Cove residents to petition county for road repair

EUREKA – Shelter Cove residents will be petitioning at the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday.

Community members from Shelter Cove are concerned about the safety on Shelter Cove Road.

They argue that erosion and major potholes are making for dangerous driving conditions.

After starting a petition and reaching over 800 signatures, Monday they will turn to help from the county.

Also on the agenda, supervisors are scheduled to sign off on an agreement with the Redwood Community Action Agency to provide temporary shelter services for youth.

The $192,000 project would be compensated through the social services fund and create four beds available to youth ages 12 through 17.

The meeting starts at 9AM Tuesday in the Humboldt County Courthouse Board Chambers.
