Supervisors approve funding for youth shelter services

EUREKA – Local non-profit Redwood Community Action Agency has been approved funds to help provide temporary shelter services for youth.

The funds will benefit youth ages twelve through seventeen that are transitioning from foster care.

This week the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors signed off on the $192,000 project that is funded through the state and federal governments and the Health Department.

It will create four beds for eligible youth.

The board also authorized the renewal of this funding for two extensions, which will go towards these services for the next three years.
