ARCATA – Students aren’t the only ones taking classes at Humboldt State University; some parents will also be doing some homework this semester. For the first time ever HSU is offering an online course specially for their students’ parents.

The ultimate goal of this course is actually to help students reach their goal of graduation. The course is intended to help parents know how to help their students while they’re at school. Parents have weekly lessons with homework and even a final exam after the 9 weeks. They learn about things like how to connect with other parents, campus safety, financial aid, and where their students can access academic support. Director of Alumni and Interim Director of Admissions, Stephanie Lane, says so far they’ve had a great response from the families who have signed up.

So far there is about 200 families signed up for the course, if you are a parent who is interested you can access it by going to parent-family website on the humboldt state main page.
