Federal disaster declared as fires rage in California

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA – Fires in wine country have been devastating even more Northern California community members.

As of this afternoon, Cal Fire says seventeen active fires are burning in areas including in Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino counties and have scorched approximately 115,000 acres.

They have taken down 1,500 structures and 15 deaths have been confirmed so far.

As a result of these, President Trump has declared a federal disaster to allow FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, to assist.
