Phone service back to normal for local law enforcement

HUMBOLDT – Phone service has come back on for many Northern California residents.

Since Monday morning, due to downed power lines, thousands of North Coast phone users lost phone service.

This morning, AT&T’s service turned back on after they’ve been working to repair equipment.

Now operations are back to normal for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, along with other local emergency response teams who have been having problems transferring between agencies.

Just yesterday the county declared a local emergency in part due to the communications system failure that was, “significantly impacting emergency services, government and private agencies providing critical public services.”
