MCKINLEYVILLE – The fires in Santa Rosa are causing damage even in places the flames haven’t touched; right here in Humboldt County airlines at the Arcata/Eureka Airport are now having trouble checking their passengers in.

Part of the airlines infrastructure is still in Santa Rosa which has lost their internet connectivity. Since that area is still in evacuation mode, officials don’t think they’ll even be able to start fixing the issue until Friday. Airlines are having trouble and are asking passengers to check in ahead of time online.

Humboldt County Aviation Program Coordinator, Emily Jacobs, says arriving to the airport already checked in will not only be a big help for airlines, but will also make travel easier on passengers.
