LOLETA – Today was the last day of the Loleta Volunteer Fire Departments largest fundraiser of the year. The antique show, followed by a deep pit BBQ, is a three day event which raises about $9,000 every year that goes towards training and equipment needs. Meredith Biasca helps organize this event and says this is a very popular show for venders as well as a crucial part of what keeps this department going.

Loleta Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief, Andrew Helzer, has been a part of this team for the past 10 years and says he looks forward to this event because it gives them a chance to connect with the community.

90% of Humboldt County Fire Departments are volunteer, the firefighters here today ask that if you want to help out to contact your local station.
