Willow Creek man, horse die in crash

WILLOW CREEK – A man and his horse are dead after a crash in Eastern Humboldt.

Just after 8 Sunday night, 50 year old Timothy Robert Ulrich of Hoopa was driving his Ford F-150 truck northbound on the country club bridge.  He tried to avoid an oncoming vehicle and veered to the left striking and a horse and his rider.

The horse died at the scene.

The rider, 67 year old Kenneth Way Brock of Willow Creek, sustained major injuries and was transported to Mad River Hospital where he later died.

Alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor in the crash.
