Woman struck by SUV in Eureka Mall parking lot

EUREKA – A woman was taken to the hospital after being struck by an SUV at the Eureka Mall.
Just after 4:00 Wednesday afternoon, an Isuzu Rodeo was backing in to a parking space in front of Subway.
Eureka Police said that the male driver didn’t see a woman walking through the parking lot, and the SUV struck her.
Witnesses heard a loud sound as she fell to the ground and hit her head.
Humboldt Bay Fire responded and City Ambulance transported her to the hospital. The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time. The Isuzu driver and a female passenger were unharmed.
Officers said it appeared to be an accident.
