Loleta hunter wanted for injuring man while shooting

LOLETA, CA. – A hunter hit a human while shooting in Loleta.

Deputies with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office met with the victim at Redwood Memorial Hospital, who had been hit in the eye and shoulder while on Indianola Reservation Road.

He says he didn’t see who made the shot, but he did see a hunting dog and doctors say he was hit with a bird shot.

He was flown south for treatment, and is not expected to die.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is trying to locate the suspect, if you have information you can call them at 707-445-7251
