Hoopa man arrested for possession of fully automatic rifle, drug paraphernalia

HOOPA – Deputies arrested a Hoopa man after finding rifles and drug paraphernalia in his home.
Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was conducting a maximum enforcement operation Monday in response to recent armed robberies on Bair Road and Bald Hills Road.
Deputies located Harvey Robert Crews, Jr. hiding at his home on Moon Lane. During his arrest for an active warrant, officers noticed several AR-15 rifles, high capacity magazines and drug paraphernalia. After securing and serving a search warrant, one of the weapons was found to have been converted to fully automatic.
Crews, Jr. was booked in to Humboldt County Jail on numerous firearm-related charges.
