Chase involving 3 juveniles ends in crash of stolen vehicle

EUREKA- A high-speed chase involving three male juveniles in a stolen vehicle ends after crashing in Eureka.

At around 11 Tuesday night, a Eureka police officer noticed a Nissan Xterra driving without its headlights on near 11th and F Street.

A pursuit of the vehicle started with speeds reaching 70 miles per hour.

The officer lost sight of the Nissan for a short time.The SUV was located again at the intersection of 6th and A Street and the pursuit continued.

It was at 14th and Broadway when the SUV crashed into a utility box at the Walgreen’s parking lot.

The ages of the juveniles were 12, 15 and 16. One of the boys was just released from Juvenile Hall last month and is on formal probation for burglary.

The Nissan they were driving was reported stolen out of Fortuna.
