EUREKA – Service animals are a big part of the community but the laws regarding them are not always clear.

On Monday a public workshop was put on by the Eureka Police Department, Disability Rights California, and Humboldt Working Dogs for people to come learn about the legal rights to service animals in the community.

Service dog handlers, business owners, and government employees were some of those who attended Monday’s meeting, asking questions from what qualifies as a service animal to specific regulations in certain settings.
