Deputy assaulted while arresting man suspected of violence at Eureka night club

EUREKA, CA. – Several are arrested near the Tip Top Club in Eureka, after they allegedly threw bottles at security staff, and one suspect who refused to comply with officers assaulted a deputy before being cuffed.

42-year-old Clayton Parker was found hiding in brush following a report of multiple suspects being violent with staff at the club on Sunday.

While attempting to detain Parker, he became hostile and hit one of Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office deputy in the groin, then grabbed him by the groin and refused to let go.

The deputy struck Parker on the shoulder and used pepper spray, without success.

Parker was taken to the ground and he tried to break free, as additional deputies responded and finally handcuffed him.

He and two other suspects were booked into the Humboldt County Jail.
