Father finds missing son deceased in Arcata Marsh

ARCATA, CA. – An out-of-area father finds his missing son dead in the Arcata Marsh.

25-year-old Felix Desautels-Poirier from Canada went missing in Arcata in early November, after spending time with friends in the marsh.

Following unsuccessful searches by local law enforcement, Felix’s father came to the area to search for his son himself, and found his body in the Hauser Marsh on Monday afternoon.

Foul play is not suspected, and investigators say the cause appears to be drowning.

The Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause of death.
