Fostering Futures: Champion for Children

play-sharp-fill

Rose Baker has fostered 473 children in Humboldt County, who’ve gone on to have over a hundred children themselves, filling her home and her heart with love. In part two of Fostering Futures: Champion for Children, I’ll introduce you to Rose, who explains the heartbreaking and inspiring reasons why she took on such an endeavor.

To learn more about becoming a foster parent, you can contact Child Welfare Services at 707-499-3410. There are also informational meetings held each month that you can attend to find out more about becoming a foster parent, with no commitments. The next info night is coming up on December 4th from 6-8pm at the Church of the Nazarene in Eureka.

Also, if you’re inspired to help a struggling child, but don’t have the time or resources to become a full-time foster parent, you may want to consider joining CASA as a volunteer to spend time with and advocate for a child and the services they need. More information and the application can be found at www.humboldtcasa.org
