Cyber Monday sales expected to reach over six billion dollars, local businesses take part

EUREKA, CA. – This Monday is Cyber Monday – the online equivalent to Black Friday.

Since ‘Cyber Monday’ was coined about ten years ago, online sales this day each year have grown to reach billions of dollars.

Monday’s sales are expected to reach 6.6 billion dollars, with half of those orders being purchased on mobile phones. It has been made popular by companies like Amazon offering massive savings, most of the time better than the ones available in stores on Black Friday.

You should be reminded, it’s not just big chains taking part in the online discount phenomenon – some of your favorite local businesses are too, such as Eureka Books and Humboldt Clothing Company.
