Film shot in Humboldt to debut at Sundance

EUREKA – A film shot entirely in Humboldt will get its big screen debut at the Sundance Film Festival.
‘An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn’ was shot over three weeks in February of this year at places like the Eureka Inn and Bob’s Footlong in Fortuna.
The production hired more than 100local background actors and crew members.
And the dark comedy was just accepted in to the Sundance Film Festival Wednesday.
Humboldt Del Norte Film Commissioner Cassandra Hesseltine said that’s good news for the north coast’s reputation as a film friendly location.
She added, “When they pick a location like this, a historic inn or a town to represent the film, it becomes like a character in the film. So I’m hoping that is indeed what it does and that people will show interest in the locations and that they’ll then be interested in possibly bringing other productions here.”
Sundance runs from January 18-28. A precise premiere date has not been scheduled.
As for when you can see the film Hesseltine said that depends on if it attracts a distributor. She expects it will be available in the next year or so.
