Eureka police seeking information in possible murder of homeless man

EUREKA, CA. – A homeless eureka man dies and investigators believe the cause is suspicious.

The Eureka Police Department is investigating the possible homicide of 56-year-old Charles Levaugh, who commonly went by Chuckie.

Between 11:30PM Monday and just before 1AM Tuesday, investigators believe Levaugh was murdered in the alley to the rear of 2039 E Street.

Police are asking for anyone who knew Levaugh, or knew any significant events associated with him to come forward.

They’re also asking for anyone who heard a disturbance during that time period or has a surveillance camera in that area to contact Eureka police or Senior Detective Harpham at (707) 441-4305 or rharpham@ci.eureka.ca.gov
