Officers search for Willow Creek man suspected of firing gun following domestic dispute

WILLOW CREEK, CA. – The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office asked residents to stay inside on Thursday during a search of an armed Willow Creek man.

They’re looking for 27-year-old Kason Crutchfield, and so far the search has been unsuccessful.

He’s recently been released from the Humboldt County Jail, where he talked to News Channel 3 about his experience in a program promoting cultural connections for inmates.

Now he’s wanted for alleged involvement in a domestic dispute.

Just before three Thursday, deputies were called to the 100 block of Mountain View Lane.

The female victim was able to escape the residence.

A gunshot was then heard coming from inside, and Crutchfield fled out the back door.

He’s described as American Indian, 5’7’’, 230 pounds, with brown black hair and hazel eyes, last seen wearing shorts and no shirt.

Anyone with more information is asked to call the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
