CHP: Impairment ‘a factor’ in crash that left Ferndale man with major injuries

MIRANDA – A Ferndale man was airlifted to Redding after his truck overturned on Highway 101.
Officers with CHP Garberville Area say 27-year-old Kyle Arata-Matyshock was driving a Dodge Ram pickup northbound near Miranda Monday afternoon around 4:00 when, for reasons still under investigation, the truck left the roadway, struck a guardrail and overturned against a tree.
Arata-Matyshock was transported to Redding via air ambulance with major injuries.
CHP says impairment is considered a factor and the crash is under investigation.
Traffic was briefly reduced to one lane while emergency crews responded and cleared the roadway.
