Three Arrested in Arcata Traffic Stop

Arcata, Ca., (KIEM)- A traffic stop becomes a drug and weapons bust in Arcata this weekend. Saturday morning just after 10:00 a.m. officers stopped a Mercedes Benz on Spear Avenue.

They found a half ounce of methamphetamine and paraphernalia, a validated Norteno gang member from San Jose named Andrew Garcia, and a loaded 40 caliber handgun.

The other two vehicle occupants Ronald Loureiro and Cierra Oscar were both on parole. Also in the car? 6 thousand 400 dollars in cash from what officers believe was the sale of narcotics. All were booked at the Humboldt county correctional facility on charges ranging from parole violation and felony weapons possession… to drug possession and trafficking.
