Woman arrested on Highway 101 for weapon, drug violations

CRESCENT CITY, CA. – A woman is arrested on drug and weapon charges on the shoulder of Highway 101.

Crescent City CHP graveyard officers made the enforcement check just before midnight on Friday north of Hamilton Road where a woman was parked.

Suspect 35-year-old Crystal Claypool was found with about 37 pounds of marijuana, as well as a home-made shot gun and nunchucks.

Claypool was arrested and booked on charges including possession of a controlled substance for sale and dangerous weapons.
