Humboldt deputies in officer-involved shooting identified

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA. – We now know the identity of a deputy injured in an officer-involved shooting this weekend.

Deputy Rosalie Freixas was shot in the shoulder by a suspect near Ferndale on Coppini Road early Sunday.

Freixas, a three year employee of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, is stable and recovering from her injuries.

The suspect, 30-year-old Hugo Parral Aguirre, was also shot and later arrested.

Sergeant Gregory Musson was another first-deputy on scene.

Both Musson and Freixas are on administrative leave as the investigation continues.
