For some, working Christmas is part of the job

EUREKA – Though it’s a federal holiday not everyone had the day off.
First responders, law enforcement and medical staff were hard at work on Christmas.
And many movie theaters, gas stations and coffee shops were open for business for at least part of the day.
Grateful customers lined up for a hot coffee at Starbucks on 5th Street.
Some employees even dressed in Grinch-themed outfits for their shift.
Staff said they were excited to get the chance to spread some holiday cheer.
Starbucks Store Manager Kaitlyn Davis said, “You get to see so many faces and a lot of people that don’t have families or we’re their family for Christmas. Also there’s our Starbucks family, so we’re happy to be open on Christmas.”
