Rio Dell man leads law enforcement on high speed pursuit, arrested on Eel River bar

EUREKA – A high speed pursuit ends in the arrest of a Rio Dell man.
Just after 3:00 Sunday afternoon a deputy on patrol near Loleta attempted to stop a motorcycle operated by 20-year-old Tavin Dee Evans.
Evans fled south on to Highway 101 at high speeds. Fortuna Police took up the pursuit at Kenmar Road. Evans turned on to a hiking trail and officers located him along the Eel River.
He abandoned the motorcycle and fled on foot. Deputies took him in to custody. A search turned up methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Evans was already on probation for vehicle theft and carrying a concealed weapon. He was booked in to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.
