HUMBOLDT, DEL NORTE COUNTIES, CA. – Massive fires throughout Northern California this fall has prompted the construction of new radio towers for emergency services, and you’re being asked to give input on their location.
The proposed Emergency Telecommunication Plan would rid of the Red Mountain communication site in the Six Rivers National Forest, and create several sites in Del Norte and Humboldt counties.
Locations being considered are Rattlesnake Peak and Alder Camp in Del Norte, as well as two Green Diamond Resource Company sites in the Big Lagoon area, a site near Orick, and Rodgers Peak in the Redwood National Park.
To provide your input, you’re invited to two upcoming meetings, in Arcata and Klamath:
Wednesday, January 10 3pm-7pm
Arcata Community Center
321 Community Park Way, (Arts and Crafts Room), Arcata
Thursday, January 11, 3pm-7pm
Klamath Community Center
219 Salmon Road, Klamath
