Fortuna police ask residents to register their security camera locations

FORTUNA, CA. – Fortuna police want to solve crimes with the help of local citizens, and their security cameras.

In order to create a database of security camera locations in the city, which officers can request footage from, Fortuna PD is asking businesses and residents with cameras on their property to register its location online.

They say knowing where cameras are located will speed up investigations, and say that sometimes, the best video evidence isn’t necessarily gathered at the crime scene, but at streets and pathways a suspect took leading there.
