ARCATA- While Humboldt State football will be back next season, it appears Rob Smith will not be on the sidelines.

The veteran coach is expected to resign after ten years with the green and gold. This comes just a month after it was announced the program would be saved after the community and business leaders raised $500,000 for each of the next five seasons.

Smith was named GNAC coach of the year four times and won two conference titles along with a playoff appearance in 2015.

Interim athletic director Duncan Robins told News Channel 3 he met with Smith Thursday afternoon and as of now, smith is still the Jacks head coach.
