Fortuna, Ca., (KIEM)- Crime doesn’t pay and you can’t outrun the radio. Those are the lessons that become clear after talking with Deputy Matthew Tomlin with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. Tomlin has more than a decade worth of experience in law enforcement and is no stranger to the high speed chase.

On Christmas Eve a motorcyclist led officers from multiple agencies from Bear River Casino to the Fortuna River Lodge, where he took his bike off road, and it eventually became disabled. Deputies would capture the suspect in a field on foot, proving that collaboration and communication between agencies can help end most pursuits.
