Social media threat not aimed at McKinleyville High School

MCKINLEYVILLE, CA.  – A social media threat appeared to be aimed at McKinleyville High School, but was not.

This Snapchat photo reading, “don’t go to school tomorrow MHS students,” made its way around social media, alarming parents.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office looked into the threat, and found that it was actually related to Monticello High School in Virginia.

Deputies contacted law enforcement in Virginia where charges are pending for a juvenile suspect.

No threat was made to McKinleyville High School.
