FORTUNA – Fortuna Chamber is celebrating the Year of the Dog with the Dog of the Year.
Six pups will face stiff competition over the next month to see who can raise the most money to support chamber programs and Miranda’s Rescue.
Each of the dog’s two-legged friends will be collecting donations in unique ways. For example, one is making custom dog beds from old pallets.
In addition to fundraising for the Eel River Valley, the winner
will earn some serious bragging rights.
Fortuna chamber of commerce CEO Erin Dunn said, “The dog who raises the most money will be crowned Dog of the Year on February 15, and so for a year they get to have that title. They’ll have their banner up on Main Street as Dog of the Year winner for 2018.”
You can meet the winner at the chamber’s annual dinner on February 15th, the eve of the Chinese new year.
