Trinidad council to consider resolution pledging cooperation with Yurok Tribe

TRINIDAD – Trinidad council will consider a resolution to promote cooperation between the city and the Yurok Tribe.
The resolution pledges unity between the city government and the tribe in order to encourage greater community health and spirit.
The city also states the need to protect the Tsurai village site.
This follows the successful move of the Trinidad Memorial Lighthouse from its location above the Tsurai Village site. The resolution describes the move as “a result of open communication, good will and problem solving”.
The city commits itself to work hand in hand with the tribe going forward.
And also on the agenda, council will meet its newest deputy and consider allowing leashed dogs on Trinidad Head.
The meeting begins at 6:00 Wednesday night at Trinidad Town Hall.
