State Wide Health Care Bill on Humbodlt County Supervisor’s Agenda

Health Care is a hot topic for the North Coast and it’s on the agenda for Tuesday’s Humboldt County Supervisors meeting.

A state bill would create the Healthy California program to provide comprehensive universal single payer care coverage system for residents young and old. The supervisors are expected to send a letter in support of the bill. It was last amended in March of 2017.

Also on the agenda, is the replacement of the Honeydew Bridge over the Mattole River. The bridge was built in 1920 and currently has weight restrictions. The hope is that with the new improvements Honeydew’s road and logging infrastructure will also improve. Construction is predicted to begin in 2019 after preliminary work is complete and public impute is heard.
