Honeydew Bridge due for an update

HONEYDEW- The Honeydew Bridge over the Mattole River is getting a makeover.

The single lane truss bridge was built in 1920 and currently has weight restrictions, which makes it nearly impossible for commercial trucks to pass through. District 1 Supervisor Rex Bohn says, that with the new improvements Honeydew’s road and logging infrastructure will also improve.

Construction is predicted to begin in 2019 after preliminary work is complete and public impute is heard.
